We want to thank everyone that came out to our Alumni Picnic 2007.
We had a great turnout, the best year so far. Everyone had a great time, lots of food and fun for all. All our four legged friends were very well behaved and so were the people they brought with them. We want to thank everyone that brought a covered dish or helped setup. We also want to thank our Husband and Wife Tag Team Grillers.

PLEASE READ OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
First we want to thank everyone that is looking to adopt a rescue animal instead of purchasing one from a pet shop or breeder. It is wonderful that you realize that terrific pets can be found in rescues and pounds. Every adoption starts with the adoption application. We use the information on the application to determine the best match for every pet that we have. Please do not leave anything blank or your application might not be processed. Your application is reviewed and we call the vet references that you provide to check on records of past/present veterinary care of your pets. We PREFER that you have your own vet reference, but if you have not ever had a pet or it has been awhile we will accept a vet reference from an immediate family member. i.e. mother, father, sister, brother. Please state that it is a family member and provide the name the references are under. If the vet references are good we will contact you to set up a meeting with the animal that you are interested in. WE DO NOT HAVE OPEN VISITATION. We are sorry but we cannot contact everyone that sends in an application. If you have questions you may call us during office hours. Mon - Fri 10 am - 2 pm. Once you meet the pet you are interested in and you want to proceed with the adoption, we will schedule a home visit. This is to make sure your home meets the requirements of each individual pet. After the home check is complete - if everything went well, we allow you to adopt one of our rescue animals. If you do not agree with any of the process stated above, please do not apply for one of our animals. We know each animal that we have and what is best for that particular pet and we determine the best match possible by using this process.

MOO MONEY FOR WAGGIN' TAILS
Moo Money is a fundraiser started by Michelle Oswald for Waggin' Tails Pet Rescue, a no-kill sanctuary for homeless and abandoned dogs, in conjunction with Turkey Hill stores. When you buy milk in any size or flavor at a Turkey Hill store, you will find a sticker on the cap that says "Moo Money". All you have to do is rinse of the caps and send them to Michelle. When we get 500, Waggin' Tails will get a nickel for each, amounting to a check for $25.00.
Please buy lots of milk at Turkey Hill and send the entire cap with the sticker to Michelle Oswald, 135 Washington Street, Wind Gap, PA 18091. For more information, please call Michelle at (610) 863-8203 or email her at chell768@epix.net.

WAGGIN' TAILS DOGS NEED BUDDIES
Waggin' Tails Pet Rescue, a no-kill animal rescue organization, is looking for animal lovers to sponsor dogs. Waggin' Tails has many dogs in our Sanctuary and in foster homes who need flea and tick and heartworm medications. This amounts to hundreds of dollars a month, and we could really use some help.
If you could become a "Buddy" to one of our dogs by sending in $10.00 a month, or if you would like to donate some Frontline, Advantix or Heartguard medications, please give us a call. This would be a big help to us and our homeless dogs. If you are interested in becoming a Buddy call our office at (570) 992-4185 with the name of the Cat or Dog you would like to sponsor.

DOGS FOR SENIORS - SENIORS FOR DOGS
It is a well-known fact that having a pet enhances one's life. Just the act of petting an animal reduces blood pressure. Very often, seniors are living alone and having a pet is a wonderful companion, an incentive to get outside and walk, and a source of socialization.
Waggin' Tails Pet Rescue has many animals that would be perfect for seniors. We have many adult and senior dogs who are often overlooked by younger families, but would make excellent pets in a quieter environment. Some of our dogs came to us as a result of their owner's passing or going to a nursing home. These are loving and devoted pets who are used to a home environment, and cannot understand why they have been abandoned by the owner that loved them. They deserve to live out their remaining years in a good home.
Some of our pets have special needs and are not suited to a home with children. Some require medication - usually a pill - a few times a day, which a busy working family will not have time for. These pets could be a wonderful companion for someone who is home most of the time.
We also have many adults cats that would be ideal for an older person. Cats generally require less care than dogs and use a litter box instead of needing a walk.
Of course, many people simply cannot take on the responsibility for an animal at certain times in their lives, yet they still would like to have the benefits of interacting with loving animals. There are many opportunities for volunteering and fostering animals at Waggin' Tails.
For more information about our available pets, and for information about adopting, fostering or volunteering, please call our office in Brodheadsville at (570)992-4185.

WAGGIN' TAILS NEEDS FOSTER HOMES
We are in need of animal loving people willing to foster some of our dogs. We have limited space in our shelter and several dogs in foster homes already; We would love to be able to take in more dogs. We have many dogs available, some with special needs. If you love animals, have good veterinary references and would be able to take in a dog until it finds a good home, please contact us.
We are also looking for volunteers age 18+, to help feed, walk, clean up and care for dogs at our shelter. If you have some free time to help the animals, please give us a call.
For more information, on becoming a foster family call our Volunteer Coordinator, Charlotte Meehan, at (610) 681-7920 or Waggin' Tails Office
